Stand Up Against It

Something really unfortunate happened in our college recently.  A few posters of anti-social origin, purposefully aimed at portraying the respectable staff members in bad light were found on the building walls. A series of events which preceded this incident also indicate that there are some meticulous forces inclined on derailing the smooth momentum of the curricular and co-curricular activities taking place in the college. Hereby, I need to tell all the students to unite themselves against any such activity and to wow their respect towards the wonderful faculty and staff members. We all need to work together to make our college a thoroughly healthy environment which caters to all the needs of moulding true professionals. Without doubt, we have dedicated faculty members who are there to support us to all extents in any initiative we take in this direction. So let us all hold our hands together in preventing any such shameful activity in future and strive for making each tomorrow of College of Engineering, Karunagappally  shine with brilliance.

This is to All Our Seniors of S7

We, the students of s5, had a great time organizing and enjoying Thanima-2010, the official  onam celebration of CEK. It came out to be one of the best festivities the college ever witnessed. The whole celebration had an inherent specialty in many aspects. One thing that may not have ever happened before in this college happened this time. And that was the voluntary co-operation from the part of  the seniors who left no stone unturned in making the celebration a success, even though they had no liability to help us.

As always, it was supposed to be the responsibility of the third year students to organize the event. Yet, it would not have been a success without the sincere and selfless efforts from the part of the s7 students. The emphatic Pulikali which had been one of the prominent attractions of the day was  completely a s7 sponsored event. It is heard that some of them even gave up an important special supplementary examination for the sake of preparations for the  ” Pulikali Ghoshayathra”. And we shall never forget the help and assistance from Baba Chakravarthy of s7 IT who was with us for a whole lot part of the night before the onam celebrations day. We owe him for most of the decorations on the courtyard.

Due to some technical reasons, an official word of thanks could not be given to our loving seniors during the occasion. That was because just after the Pulikali when we had planned to do it, all the seniors went back to their classes and there was hardly any senior left in the main block. For some reason or the other, it could not be rendered even later. We apologize to all the students of s7 for this and hereby express our deep feeling of love and gratitude towards them for their great support and friendship. We are sort of proud to be your juniors. Thank You All.

THE SPIRIT OF POLITICS

Oh! God, why am I so depressed? Like all other guys of my age why can’t I no longer drop my jaw and gasp a ‘wow!’ when a pretty girl walks by? Why can’t I think of a settled and contended future the way others around me expect me to? Still, why does every sweet fancy that once captivated my mind leave me with each new experience with this world? May be something is terribly wrong with me…………….or may be something has gone terribly wrong with this world. Of both I can’t decide which is. But pause you who read this, I expect you to.I have been living in this country for nineteen years and I have been taught glorious stories of its feat. Those priceless ideas that nourished the concept of India had made a dewy impression in my childhood self that life was worth living. The necessary evil of growing up changed my tastes though. Everyday someone or the other was always bent on teaching me that real life does not look like childhood fancies, that life needs to be practical, that life is about achievement, success, and personal well-being. So I naturally grew up to be that stereotypic modern Indian middleclass youth. Yet, even when I partied and recklessly enjoyed with my friends and found it comfortable to believe that life was just fun and money, even at times when I pretended to stare at my mobile screen just to ignore a child begging on the street, I knew deep inside that I had my chance at will to go back. I had my chance because I lived in India, a nation where there was hope, a nation where every fantasy of the human mind had found utterance. Yes my dear friends, let’s face it. That we are the most wonderful race on earth. Read more »
